The Nevis (photo to follow)
The Nevis is made for the really inclement weather. With a Halley Stevensons waxed outer and an Italian wool lining this coat will keep your companion dry and warm. Being fully waxed it is also windproof. Should your pooch go off piste the waxed cotton is the best defence against brambles and thorns. The Silkwax Hunter is a subtle tartan that reflects the quality of this exceptional coat.
The Lomond (photo to follow)
The Lomond is the perfect choice if you want a showerproof coat that is warm and windproof. Lined with Italian lambswool it comes in a choice of two colours (may be more options to come). The Royal Stewart Tartan is a bold red tartan but, if you prefer something more subtle there’s the Midnight Moor – a predominantly green and brown tartan.
The Macdui (photo to follow)
The Macdui range are coats with a pure wool outer and an Italian Lambswool lining to give a beautifully warm coat for those cold but dry walks. Although the Macdui range don’t offer the waterproof properties of the Nevis and Lomond, wool naturally resists water (otherwise sheep would be in difficulty in this rainy country of ours).
The wool used in the Macdui, and the Arkaig, is deadstock wool. Deadstock fabric is ‘leftover’ fabric after a run of garment making or it has been manufactured for a customer and not bought. It does not mean it is flawed in any way but may just be last season’s design. These remainder fabrics often ended up in landfill before they became available to small manufacturers who appreciate quality and can use small quantities. The only downside to this is that we cannot guarantee a wool being available – once it’s gone, it’s gone. The upside, of course, is that we can enjoy beautiful and expensive fabrics at a fraction of the cost.
The Cairn Gorm (photo to follow)
Although benefiting from top quality waxed cotton the Cairn Gorm is designed for wet weather but higher temperatures – perhaps for those April showers. There is no internal insulation and the lining, rather than being Italian lambswool, is Lochcarron Scottish wool, woven in Selkirk. This combination of waxed cotton and woven wool makes this coat one of two coats made entirely from Scottish fabrics. To show how proud we are of this fact these coats bear a specially made label bearing the Saltire.
The Rannoch (photo to follow)
The Rannoch, like the Cairn Gorm, is for warmer, showery weather. And, like the Cairn Gorm both inner and outer layers are Scottish made and bear the Saltire.
The Arkaig (photo to follow)
For those cool spring or autumn days when a heavy coat is too much but a bit of warmth would be welcome. Made entirely from deadstock wool, the Arkaig is two layers of wool, without insulation. A beautiful lightweight coat for those sunny but cool spring and autumn walks.
We do manufacture with Harris Tweed but this is likely to affect the cost of the coat. Please contact us if you would like a coat in Harris Tweed in a tartan of your choice.
